A Cry Wolf game set in the haunted house of a long-dead Scottish occultist, Bastien Mayfair, leads the players to unravel a murder mystery, explore the twisted residence, and uncover details about Bastien's past in order to reconcile him with the ghost of his beloved servant, Kit.

the story thus far

The last game was held in February 2017 and was Game 20.

Sariel, angel of death and resident fussbird, figured out the secret of the magical music boxes that Madison (missing for three years and host of the Archangel Gabriel) had directed people to.

Following the directions sent the group down Underhill to bargain with the fae, who seem ready to go to war, though for what or with whom is not clear. After bartering with a dragon, they retrieved the trumpet that would signal the end of the world, came back to the human world...

... and promptly traded the horn to Lucifer in exchange for Madison being allowed to rejoin them again. His return was long overdue, but is sure to cause a stir, with both the warmongering Fallen Michael and the Archangel Uriel on the lookout for him...

The players return to the Mayfair Mansion, many years in the future, where a young girl named Elli has inherited Bastien's possessions and intends to sacrifice the players as a way to save her brother, whose body is being puppeted by a demon after a brutal murder involving a cursed sword.

An eclectic collector named Lucia Bellcourt summons the players to test their skills with a puzzle-heavy game, intending to hire them to help expand her collections. However, she has skeletons in the closet -- a demonic butler, and a monster that goes bump in the night.

An apparently occult murder has occurred at St. Dominic's School for Boys, and Headmaster Prewett summons everyone to solve it. Among the suspects, it's discovered that one of the TAs, Tristan, is an incubus; one of the students, Madison, is prophetic; and that burning books is a bad idea.

Inexplicably finding themselves in Bastien Mayfair's soul, the players have to navigate memories and death games to find their way out. We learn that the Bellcourts are descendants of Bastien Mayfair, and the players free Bastien from Lucia's control and drive away her butler, Asmodeus.

Summoned again by Lucia, the players split up to (illegally) acquire items for her collection. At the same time, Elli has also summoned players to help hunt down the Red Man, the demonic sword responsible for her brother's death. Lucia ends up under the influence of the sword and Asmodeus.

Game 5

Lucia, Bastien and Tristan are summoned to Hell to stand trial for their crimes. Those not on trial explore Hell, meeting Baal-Berith, the flamboyant lawyer; and the Leviathan, who takes Tristan under her service as a Chevalier. The Red Man is convicted, and all other charges are dropped. But why?

Lucia is influenced by the Red Man; David is recovering in the hospital; a succubus baroness, Isobel, is trying to frame Tristan; Dr. Filangieri has disappeared; pacts are made with the Crow; Andromalius holds a trial and drags Lucia's father to Hell. And then everybody goes to Disneyland.

A death game in a twisted hospital drags the players across multiple realities. The players work to fight the snake demon holding the hospital hostage with the help of some sick children. David, Lucia, and Kieran assist, but it's Madison's clairvoyance that proves to be the key.

A Duke of Hell is murdered, and Tristan and the Bellcourts are under suspicion. The players help get Isobel convicted of the crime -- but, unbeknownst to them, it was all a part of Zoey's machinations. Heaven and Hell politics are moving, and Asmodeus and Filangieri are still missing.

Lucia summons everybody for a Christmas party Cry Wolf game. Tristan is there with his coworker, Zoey, another Chevalier. Elluka and Kieran also fly in to visit. Fon emotionally terrorizes Tristan about his fluffy human affections. There's relationship drama. Zoey and Silver watch Jersey Shore.

Lucia & David Bellcourt lead the players through the Edinburgh Vaults, where Asmodeus is sealed, in order to unseal him and bring him back under their control before anybody else can find him. The expedition is (mostly) successful, and along the way they meet Maon, a Scottish paranormal investigator and one of the Intercessionists.

Tristan has Elluka summon the players to an upscale island resort that he owns, to assist him with an investigation. They deal with an evil ex-boyfriend that has broken past his wards to steal a tracking device that can locate angels & demons. Meanwhile, the Archangel Michael has fallen, and Madison reveals himself as the Archangel Gabriel.

Lucia & Shuri get married, which gets exciting when Shuri's soul is sucked into a cursed garter belt. Some work to break the curse from the inside, while others summon Tristan back from Hell to help undo the curse that he had placed under Asmodeus's orders. The groom is safe, and Kazuki & David have an impromptu secondary Bellcourt wedding.

The players are inexplicably summoned back to Mayfair Manor, the site of the first game. A curse on the Mayfair-Bellcourt family is discovered, and Lucia takes on the Mayfair name to lift the curse and gain access to the wellspring of power associated with the house to help her control Asmodeus.

The followers of the Fallen Archangel Michael make a bid for power in a murdering spree across New York, which ends with their leader devoured by Tristan. Madison (Gabriel's host) is taken away by Lucifer to some unknown location so he doesn't fall into Michael's hands, and the angel Sariel is left with the group at Madison's orders.

It's Samhainn, and that means it's time for the Fairies' Tithe to Hell. As if that isn't bad enough, Valencia, Michael's old host, has gone missing, and is likely to be part of said Tithe. After some tangles with the Wild Hunt and similar fairy terrors, they get her back, Maon gets beheaded (he's fine), and Michael steals the Tithe of souls for his own nefarious purposes.

Madison (the host of the Archangel Gabriel) has been taken away by Lucifer to some unknown location so he doesn't fall into Michael's hands. But now, it's been discovered that the Archangel Uriel, aka Una, is also looking for Madison ... along with everybody else. After an adventure into the mind of a reluctantly psychic Redditor, the group has some ideas about where Madison might be ...

A harmless set of "escape room" games turn out to be a weirdly elaborate plot by Belphegor, Prince of Sloth to unlock the mysteries of some mysterious artifacts that point the way towards something that Madison wants found. Sloth isn't so happy to be involved, but Sariel (our resident psychopomp / fussy chicken) is even more unhappy as he makes deals with literal devils (mainly Luka) to team up to find whatever it is Madison wants them to do.
